Favorite Thing: City Chic Striped Bardot Top

If I'm going to recommend a product than you can be confident it's something I've bought, tried and tested and loved. So I speak with absolute confidence when I tell you how super awesome this plus size striped bardot top is from City Chic. I love it. No, really. LOVE it. Why I Love It...Let me count the ways I love this top.1)  There's a subtle A-line to this top that makes the fit absolute perfection. Lots of tops miss the mark with this detail. This is one way this style is amazeballs. Rather than having a straight cut it has a subtle A-line shape to it that begins just under the best. If you have hips and a mid-section (like I do) than this means excellent things for you. It flows WITH the natural shape of my body instead of working against it. Just great!2) Fabric is soft, has stretch yet stands up to washing.Having worked in plus fashion for years, I know a bit about fabric. For example, Rayon Spandex Jersey is super soft and what many plus manufactures make their tops of because its cost effective and stretchy. But it also pills and washes pretty cruddy. This top, however, is a cotton blend. It is more substantial. I can wear a black bra under it and have NO coverage issues. It is soft, stretchy and substantial. I have washed it about ten times and still haven't had any issues with quality.3) Perfectly proportions. As a petite plus size woman, I find many tops and prints just overwhelming. Both the pattern and cut of this type are perfectly proportioned for me. First, the stripe is narrow, which I really like. Truth be told, I haven't always loved stripes before. But this one is classic and easy to wear. On top of that, the proportions of fit work great -- the top has enough length to give me the coverage I want without overwhelming at all.I tend to wear this top with boyfriend style jeans and flats. However, you could easily dress it up with a pencil or full skirt and a swipe of red lipstick. It is one of my most favorite plus size tops in my closet!

I stepped out for a day date (yup, a first date during the day!) wearing this top with my fav skinny jeans.
